The BAA provides a syllabus to guide aikido students in their learning and to help measure progress. Students are awarded coloured belts as they achieve the grades in the syllabus.
The Kyu Grade Syllabus covers all belts up to, but not including, black belt. Black belt and beyond is part of the Dan Grade Syllabus.
